Q. How is it that the service is INSTANTLY live once I subscribe without
having to wait 24-72 hours like all of the other hosting companies?
A. You will need to update your DNS information to the following:
NS1.SHOUTHOSTING.COM
NS2.SHOUTHOSTING.COM
After the DNS changes have been made it may take up to 48 hours for them to
propagate throughout the web. You may access your site and admin pages after
this takes place.
Advanced users may modify their host file and add the IP of their website to it
so that instant access is available (IP address will be emailed to you). Since
your site is name based you cannot simply type the IP address into the browser,
you must instead let your browser know that on that IP address you are looking
for the website www.XYZ.com and the only way to do this is by changing your DNS
information with your registrar (for all users to see it) and then you may also
change your host file on your computer (only effects you) and then you will be
given instant access to your website.
Q. How do I access my website administration page?
A. We use cPanel as our GUI website administration software. It is rated the best
admin software by many experts in the field.
The site administration may be found at the following location:
http://www.yoursite.com:2082/
You will be provided a username and password for this admin once you signup.
This admin page will provide you with FTP, telnet, email, webmail and many other
site utilities.
Q. Why can't I register domain names through SHOUThosting.com like I can with other hosting companies?
A. We have always used www.GoDaddy.com because they are one of the most
economical companies around and have excellent customer service. Therefore at this time we do not feel the
need to provide this service.
